Intensive Outpatient Program
At Maryland Health Services, we provide additional intensive treatment and support for adults, children/Adolescents through an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Our goal is to support each of our clients, regardless of race, ethnicity, social-economic status, and gender, to live an independent and productive life. The IOP is designed for Children, adults, and adolescents/youths with chronic and persistent psychiatric disorders, including substance use disorder.
The Maryland Health Services IOP is designed to provide a multi-disciplinary/multi-treatment approach to mental health disorders for those who require a higher level of care not offered by a typical outpatient therapy. The IOP provides the clients with group therapy with the goal of providing a balance that affords clients the ability to deal with chronic and persistent psychiatric disorders and supports client’s ability to lead an independent and productive life.
At the Maryland Health Services IOP, the multidisciplinary providers include psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and therapists, who provide clients with the following services:
- Comprehensive evaluation and treatment planning
- Family Therapy
- Medication management
- Individual and group therapy
- Educational groups for coping and life management skills
- Drug and alcohol counseling
- Symptom management
